We’re gathering stories from small business owners about how the current immigration climate — including enforcement by ICE, immigration raids at local businesses, and changes to SBA loan programs requiring 100% ownership by U.S. citizens or nationals — may be affecting your business, employees and community. Recent changes have made certain businesses ineligible for SBA loans, including U.S. citizen–owned businesses with any percentage of foreign ownership including green card holders (lawful permanent residents). Even businesses that employ DACA recipients or Dreamers in senior leadership roles may face additional scrutiny and potential disqualification.
